We offer two different guided paddle tours in Åre. Paddling with a classic kayak if you are looking for a beautiful natural paddling in lakes and river kayak if you are looking for more action and adrenaline.

Are you looking for an adrenaline-filled experience. Then you should try river kayaking. Experience the feeling of controlling the currents. With the help of our instructors, you will dance down the rapids with horror-mixed delight.

Frequently asked questions about kayaking in Åre
Is it hard to kayak?
Our kayaks are stable, it is not difficult to keep the balance. Everyone moves forward from the start. Finding a good, effective technique requires longer time. You get a basic review when you rent a kayak. If you take a guided tour, you can get more tips. Then you can choose whether you want to focus a lot on technique or just enjoy silently gliding on the water.
What equipment is included?
Kayak, paddle, life jacket, wet shoes, canopy & wetsuit if needed. Helmet if we paddle rapids.
Where do we gather to kayak in Åre?
It is common for us to gather at Åreguiderna (Åre torg) and try on wetsuits. For kayak rental, we meet up outside at the kayaks in Björnänge.
How much does it cost to kayak?
Kayaking is one of our cheapest activities. Rent a kayak costs SEK 600. Technique course 90min costs from SEK 950. A guided tour 3h with equipment costs from SEK 3000. Guided tour 6h with equipment costs SEK 4650.
Is it dangerous to paddle a whitewater kayak?
Of course, there are risks to being in water. Our guides go through how to do when you, for example, overturn the kayak. As long as one does as the guide instructs, it is not much more dangerous than swimming. You have to be able to swim if you are going to raft.
Do I have to have a car to be able to kayak in Åre?
When rafting, you always get from point A to B. Then you need a car.
In flat water paddling there are various tours. If you want to make a trip A to B, you need to have a car, but you can also have the start and finish in the same place. The guide has a car with room for 4 guests.
