What are the conditions?
All tours are private, it’s just you and your party. There is always coffee, hot chocolate or tea with pastries too and of course marshmallows to grill over the open fire. Our full-day tours include a rich stew or soup with local accessories. We lend down parkas, ski goggles and warm boots. There is always time for visits to the dog farm where we help to harness dogs and cuddle with them.
What is Riverlodge Huskys?
Riverlodge Huskys is located at the eastern end of Lake Åresjön, not far from Renfjället. The tours usually start from the Lodge and out on to the lake where the snow is white on the ice. The dog span travels silently with a view to Åreskutan. Our 17 dogs are part of our family. The dogs all have different personalities, but one thing in common – they love to be cuddled with. With us, the meeting at the campfire is almost as important as the dog sled tour. In our wooden tipi we sit on reindeer hides and coffee sticks and enjoy the warmth of the fire. At larger groups, we divide up so that we alternately run dog sledding and feel comfortable by the campfire. All tours are private, it’s just you and your party.
